  • Although every care has been taken to package your purchase safely for transit, breakages can happen. If this happens please do contact me at hello@rainbowcottagepottery.co.uk and we can arrange a replacement if possible or a refund. A photo is required, to show the damaged item which enables me to query with the parcel provider.

  • Not as yet but hope to do so in the near future.

  • All creations are made by hand, meaning no two items are identical. It’s what makes them unique!

  • Making my pottery and sculptures with minimal impact on the environment is very important to me, but it does have an impact; the kiln, clay, glaze ingredients etc so I really try to minimize it as much as possible. All creations are made in the studio here in Kent, all packaging is previously recycled, even when buying as new from suppliers. I do also reuse old suitable boxes, bubble wrap and any suitable stuffing, so please don't be disappointed with the outward appearance of your parcel or the bubble wrap inside, it’s being re-used. Every care is taken when glazing, a trap is installed to collect harmful particles and if possible unusual and surprising glazes will be made from the waste. Water is also recycled as much as possible as is clay from pottery that hasn't gone to plan and scraps from projects. As mentioned on the website a proportion of my profits go to charities mostly benefitting wildlife, animals, insects, the countryside. I will announce every now again who has benefited and their mission, I hope you feel your purchase from me has been even more satisfying with this. Just in case you are wondering, no extra money has been added on to my items for this.

  • If you are buying an item to drink out of or eat from then yes, they are food safe. Only glazes that are labeled as food safe are used and anything that could be considered for eating or drinking from that is not food safe, such as a decorative bowl, will be written in the description.

  • In the description of the item it will state whether your item can be put in the dishwasher or need to be hand-washed. Most of the homeware collection is made from a clay called stoneware which is very strong and durable and is fine for dishwasher use.

  • Deposits for pottery taster sessions are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and are non-refundable. You’re welcome to change your booking date, but it must still fall within that 12-month period. Please note: I do not take taster session bookings in December, as I need this time to fire and glaze all the pottery made in October and November.

  • Firing and glazing is a delicate and unpredictable process that takes time, care and skill. Despite best efforts, things can sometimes go wrong. Your piece might develop a hairline crack, a glaze might come out slightly lighter or darker than expected, or a small element may break off. If I spot any cracks or damage before bisque firing (after drying), I will not fire the piece and will refund any payment made for it, as the issue would worsen during firing. However, if damage occurs during firing - either bisque or glaze - I do still need to charge for the firing process. This happens rarely, but I want to be open about the possibility. Your pottery will usually be ready for collection within 6–8 weeks of your session. I’ll be in touch to arrange a convenient pick-up date.

  • All my pottery is made by hand in small batches in my East Langdon studio. I use locally sourced or UK-made materials where possible and try to minimise waste.I recycle and reuse all unfired clay and try to ensure every part of the process is as sustainable as I can make it.
